On August 30, 2019, the preparatory meeting for the Medical Imaging Committee of Sichuan International Medical Exchange & Promotion Association  (SCIMEA) was successfully held in Chengdu.

Song Bin, director of Radiology Department, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Zhang Mengfan, secretary-general of SCIMEA, Li Zhenlin, deputy director of Radiology Department, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Ning Gang, director of Radiology Department, West China Second University Hospital, Sichuan University, Shen Jiang, vice president of West China Fourth University Hospital, Sichuan University, Jia Zhiyun, deputy director of the Department of Nuclear Medicine, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Pu Hong, deputy director of Radiology Department, Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, Zhou Yang, director of Ultrasound Department, Chengdu No. 3 People's Hospital, Liu Wenjun, director of Radiology Department, Zigong No. 4 People's Hospital, Shu Jian, director of Radiology Department of The Affiliated Hospital of Southwestern Medical University, Li Yong, director of Radiology Department of Suining Central Hospital, etc., attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Zhang Mengfan, secretary-general of SCIMEA, introduced the work of the association, where she mentioned that SCIMEA has been committed to serving as a medical home with positive attitude, in-depth academic atmosphere and warmth to provide better services to its members and the industry. SCIMEA has always advocated becoming a "different" association. We must not only promote the development of the medical industry in Sichuan through differential development, but also promote the development of the medical industry in Western China while promoting integration. At the same time, regarding the association’s key areas of journal compilation, academic exchanges, government cooperation, popular science and mass benefiting, etc., Secretary-General Zhang introduced the development guidance and plans of various projects to the experts present.

In the next step, on behalf of the preparatory group of the Medical Imaging Committee, Director Song Bin presented a report on the preparation of the committee. Director Song pointed out in his report that the preparation for the Medical Imaging Committee was carried out in accordance with SCIMEA’s process system. In the preparatory work, the representatives of the working group selected its members according to region categorization. In the representative regions of the provincial capital Chengdu, Northern Sichuan, and Southern Sichuan, as well as experts from radiology, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine departments from different hospitals have participated in the committee. Therefor the committee is of full-scale coverage and widely represented. In the screening of members, more attention is paid to selecting experts who have both academic influence and willingness to devoting themselves to practice.

The participating experts discussed the preparatory work and development plan of the committee. They discussed the development possibilities of image cloud platform, “homogeneization” of image medical in the province, online assessment, online guidance, and remote diagnosis. They also carried out analysis and exchange on the international exchange and development of medical imaging under the guidance of “Belt and Road”.
