Following the first Sichuan-Chongqing Science and Technology Academic Conference successfully held in Chengdu, the “2021 Sichuan-Chongqing Science and Technology Academic Conference”, co-hosted by Chongqing Association for Science and Technology and Sichuan Association for Science and Technology, was convened in Chongqing Yuelai International Convention Center on November 20. With the theme of “Gathering Scientific and Technological Talents, Boosting the Development of Chengdu and Chongqing”, this conference was focused on the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, and open for the scientific and technological workers in Sichuan and Chongqing. It further strengthened academic foundation, led academic style, promoted academic exchange, built academic brand, and established a comprehensive, interdisciplinary and open academic exchange platform in Sichuan and Chongqing, aiming to create the most influential scientific and technological academic event in Sichuan and Chongqing, and pooling strong scientific and technological strength for the construction of a national influential scientific and technological innovation center in Sichuan and Chongqing.

At the opening ceremony of the conference, 184 excellent papers were released, including “A Novel Somatosensory Spatial Navigation System Outside The Hippocampal Formation”, as well as 20 most influential academic activities in Sichuan and Chongqing including “China Committee of 100 of Digital Economy”, 20 first-class societies in Sichuan and Chongqing including “Geological Society of Sichuan Province” and 20 first-rate scientific and technical journals in Sichuan and Chongqing including the “Strong Laser and Particle Beams”. Among them, “West China-Mayo International Forum of Critical Care Medicine 2020”, which was co-sponsored and recommended by Sichuan International Medical Exchange & Promotion Association (SCIMEA), was awarded “The Most Influential Academic Activities in Sichuan and Chongqing 2021”.

The “West China-Mayo International Forum of Critical Care Medicine 2020” was held in Chengdu from November 19 to 22, 2020, and was co-sponsored by SCIMEA, Sichuan Preventive Medicine Association and West China Hospital of Sichuan University. The Forum, with the theme of “standardizing core technologies and focusing on annual hot topics”, invited the top-ranked Mayo Clinic in the U.S., experts in critical care-related fields from Europe and the U.S., as well as dozens of academicians and experts in critical care-related fields in China to attend. Combining on-site lectures and cloud-based classes, the Forum carried out rich and innovative academic activities such as core critical care technology workshop, special lectures, view exchanges on hot topics, case discussions and face-to-face meetings gurus, presenting a wonderful academic feast in the field of critical care. At the plenary session, 18 top experts and professors in the field of critical care at home and abroad made special reports, as well as 13 sub-sessions on critical care research, critical care nursing, respiratory therapy, critical care circulation, critical care infection, critical care visualization and diagnosis, etc. were organized, with hundreds of critical care experts sharing their opinions. The Forum adopted a live China-US linkup and a combined online–offline approach, with more than 1,400 participants from 30 provinces and autonomous regions attending on site, a total live broadcast duration of over 47 hours and a total of over 100,000 viewers.

In 2021, SCIMEA continued to strengthen academic conference services, and successively held more than 10  international and national academic conferences including “West China-Mayo International Forum of Critical Care Medicine 2021”, “The 16th International Orthopedics Forum of West China Hospital”, “The 2nd Huaxi of SCU-Oxford Joint Forum on Gastrointestinal Caner”, “China Lung Cancer Conference 2021”, "The 11th Academic Annual Meeting of National Oral Biomedicine of Oral Biomedicine Committee of Chinese Stomatological Association & International Frontier Forum on Oral Biomedicine 2021” , “2021 Annual Conference of Chinese Society for Diseases of the Esophagus (CSDE) and the 4th Esophageal Surgery Forum of West China Hospital” , as well as over 100 provincial academic conferences, academic salons, training sessions and grassroots activities. With professional and standardized conference organization service, SCIMEA is highly praised by the experts, leaders and related industry people. 

At present, SCIMEA has built first-class international medical exchange platforms, medical academic service platforms, medical culture dissemination platforms and industry development promotion platforms, with international medical academic resources covering the globe. It also founded MedComm and Molecular Biomedicine — two high-end English medical journals, worked with West China Hospital to establish West China medical cultural industry companies dedicated to the development of medical culture, and created the “GMIH—an international medical innovation service platform)” to promote transformation of technological achievements and technology transfer in global healthcare.
